Better than Gold and Silver

"The law of thy mouth  is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver."   Psalm 119:72

The words of the Lord is more precious, it can not be matched with gold or silver. The law of the Lord is wonderful, it brings peace in our life. The words are powerful to bring wonders in our life. The words are sweeter than honey. The words are marvelous. The words are worthy to be praised. They are truthful. They bring joy and happiness in our life. They give promises to us. They are rich in knowledge and  they enhance our wisdom. They are prolific and bring many blessings in our life.
When you mediate the words, they speak to us. The words ignite our hearts and lead us to pray to the Lord.  "My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned:  then spake I with my tongue." Psalm 39:3. The Lord has promised us that the words and the laws are flawless and they are trustworthy. The Lord is holy, so the words of His mouth is also holy. They will never fail. The words will do the mighty things what the Lord has commanded. "For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:  So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper  in the thing whereto I sent it." Isiah 55:10,11. The words will go around the world and do what the Lord has ordered. The words have spirit and life. So the words can light up our souls. They comfort us when we are weary and laden. They console our minds at the time of restless. They give promises and hopes for our future. They will never let us down when we believe them. They will elevate us and make us to ride a successful life.  The Lord comforted Joshua when Moses was departed from this world. The Lord advised him  "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success." Joshua 1: 8.
Our Success lies on the words of the Lord. If we persistently follow the words, our life will be successful.

"More to be desired  are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb."    Psalm 19:10.

Neither Silver Nor Gold

"For as much as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things,  as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;  But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot."
                                                                                    I Peter 1:18,19

The Lord Jesus redeemed us not with silver or gold but with His holy blood. HE shed his precious blood for us. A man can not get salvation without paying the ransom for his sins.  In early days, the God told Moses to give a blemish lamb as an atonement for their souls.  "For the life of the flesh  is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it  is the blood  that maketh an atonement for the soul." Leviticus 17:11. The blood alone can hid the sins of the souls. The blood has life. When Cain killed his brother Abel, his blood cried unto the God from the earth. "And the LORD said unto Cain, Where  is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not:  Am I my brother's keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground." Genesis 4:9,10.  But the blood of Jesus is more precious than anything else. Jesus blood speaks better things than Abel. Abel blood cried unto the Lord for Judgment but Jesus blood submissively pleading to God to show mercy upon all mankind. "Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than  that of Abel."  Hebrews 12:24.
The Lord Jesus came as a lamb to give himself as an atonement for our souls. The Lord shed his blemish and spotless blood for us. The Lord went through pains and sufferings on the cross. Jesus was a perfect atonement for our sins. He gave his blood to redeem all mankind. "HE is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for  the sins of the whole world." I John 2:2.
HE shed His blood for us to get a joyful life. The worldly things are not worthy to redeem us from sin. The Holy God gave His only begotten son Jesus Christ to save us from sins.  "Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put  him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see  his seed, he shall prolong  his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. " Issaiah 53:10
Abraham was asked by God to give his only son as a burnt offering at Moriah. It is not so easy for a man to slay his only son and give him as a burnt offering. But Abraham obeyed God and took his son Isaac to Moriah. He was ready to sacrifice his only son because he believed that the God would give his son back with life. He believed the promises of the God. "By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten  son, Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:   Accounting that God  was able to raise  him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure. " Hebrews 11:17,18,19. Abraham believed that if he slayed his son to obey God, the God would rise his son from dead. No words to utter, an excellent faith  was shown by Abraham when he was tested.
The God wants to show us, how much HE loves us. So God sent His only begotten son Jesus to earth as a holy atonement to rescue us from sins. The God shew His infinite mercy and love on the cross. If you  look at the cross, surely your sins will be washed away. The holy atonement was given on the cross for us. Neither silver nor gold can rescue us from sins. Jesus blood alone is the only salvation for us. The blemish blood of the Holy Lamb surely makes us rich in all our life. Amen.

"Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk."
